First thing you did this morning? Go for a quick walk (in my pajamas!), then coffee with collagen.
What does 'wellness' mean to you? Seeing myself. Feeling like I’m in my body and not just my head. An openness for clarity, the ability to see new possibilities. Easy come, easy go.
Products found in your shower/by your bath? Davines shampoos, Dr Bronner’s almond soap, Coconut oil.
Three things that can always be found in your kitchen cupboard? Pistachios, Tortilla chips (I love snacks), Nutritional yeast.
Favourite kitchen utensil? Cast iron pan.
Favourite Travel destination? Southern Italy, Paris, Inverness CA, Santa Fe NM, West Texas (next on my list rural Portugal and Japan…)
Currently reading? Krishnamurti’s Meditations + Pachinko
Currently browsing (.com)? Met Museum and NYPL digital archives for a book project.
Favourite breakfast food? Toast with jam and soft boiled eggs.
Three items in your make up bag? Marie Veronique Protective Day Oil, Noto Botanics Hydra Highlighter, jojoba lip balm.
An album/mix that calms your nervous system? Adam Torres, Mary Lattimore, and Balmorhea (my husband’s band). I like listening to 432HZ music channels on YouTube while I’m writing.
An album/mix that hypes you up? I love the Brian Eno / John Cale album “Wrong Way Up” and I also listen to a lot of Ray Lynch when I’m craving totally cheesy but energizing 80s New Age feelings (good driving music).
Favourite form of movement/exercise? Walks, yoga/stretching, massage!
One thing you'd like to incorporate into your day/week that you're currently yet to?
Less time working, more time playing and/or fighting the patriarchy :)
Nighttime rituals? Magnesium, CBD, earplugs.
I feel most creatively fulfilled when… When I can make space in my mind for unique connections and I see ideas everywhere!
I'm currently working on… A book — a journal version of The Moon Lists, coming out from Clarkson - Potter in summer 2019.
This time last year, I wish I knew…
Fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill
Keep sharpening you knife and it will blunt
Chase after money and security and your heart will never unclench.
Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner.
Do your work, then step back ...
— Tao Te Ching
I'm grateful for… People who inspire me to think deeply, my friends and community, my health, clean water, Papermate Sharpwriter pencils, my husband who makes me laugh and reminds me to not be so serious!
