PEOPLE: Tasha Tylee
Name: Tasha Tylee
Occupation/Business/Creative Outlet: Photography and Film
Favourite Number: 19, I have it tattooed on my wrist and used to write it on my mums wrist everyday as a good luck charm.
First thing you did this morning? Got fed a square of chocolate to wake me up by my girlfriend Natalie, it was too early and I really didn’t want to get out of bed.
What does 'wellness' mean to you? Happiness within myself, overall health and good balance between work and play.
Products found in your shower/by your bath? Forever changing, always a mismatch of products someone doesn’t want or things from goodie bags or gifts, I don’t like wasting things.
Three things that can always be found in your kitchen cupboard? Bread (my main staple) avocado when they aren’t $5 each and Vegemite.
Favourite kitchen utensil? Knife, for spreading things on toast, guilty culprit of leaving them dirty in the sink.
Currently reading? Rumi “The sun and her Flowers”
Favourite breakfast food? Anything with mushrooms and eggs.
An album/mix that calms your nervous system? Sufjan Stevens “Call Me By Your Name“ soundtrack.
An album/mix that hypes you up? I’ve been super into the film soundtrack in “Flashdance” great workout tunes.
Most commonly used apps on your phone? Today, Instagram 32%, messages 15% and google maps 13% because I can’t trust myself to get anywhere without it.
Favourite form of movement/exercise? I grew up as a ballerina, but currently am just an admirer and run instead.
One thing you'd like to incorporate into your day/week that you're currently yet to? I’m really interested in creating prints in the darkroom this year, something I have fond memories of when I first became interested in photography, theres something really magical about seeing your image appear from nowhere on paper. Also would love to start dancing again most likely because of Flashdance!
Nighttime rituals? I usually get into bed and then become really hungry so finding some form of snack I guess is a ritual, the old instagram scroll and or watching a really terrible queer flick or soppy romance film.
I feel most creatively fulfilled when... I’m out in nature chasing after the sunset with my camera.
I'm currently working on... creating a new series, hopefully! Among a few commercial jobs.
This time last year, I wish I knew... I wouldn’t pay off my credit card in 3 months like I planned.
I'm grateful for... My supportive father, I wouldn’t be anywhere without him, he has worked so hard and is so selfless, I’m very lucky.
