People: Chelsea Healey

Name: Chelsea Healey

Occupation / Business / Creative Outlet: Global Director of Brand at Culture Amp

Location: Collingwood, Melbourne

What was the first thing you did this morning? Threw on some clothes (a blur) and walked to my local coffee shop INI for an iced citrus long-black…oh Melbourne how I love you.

What does 'well-being' mean to you? The perfect combination of good people and good work, with a dash of alone time (for this extroverted introvert) and self-care, ranging from an infrared sauna to a glass of champagne... and we're laughing!

Currently reading? Rick Rubin, The Creative Act (for switching off) & Michael D.Watkins ,The First 90 Days (for switching on).

Currently browsing (.com)? Paul Graham essays - intersection of startups, technology, and life.

A resource / piece of writing you'd like to share with us? Couldn’t pick one but my recent tabs history.

  • I re-watch Tim Minchins UWA address every few months - north star!

  • Charl Laubscher’s ‘Always Beta’ Figma keynote - perfectly explains how brand boundaries give more brand flex

  • Virgil Abloh ‘Free Game’ - almost too simple in a deliberate way, I think his parting message was ‘start!’

An album/mix that calms your nervous system? Kingswood ‘After Hours, Close to Dawn’ - my partner played this all the time on vinyl when we started dating and he was cooking - instantly makes me feel home .

An album/mix that hypes you up? Childish Gambino’s ‘Camp or a real guilty pleasure is Shania Twain…core memories cleaning the house with my mum.

Three items in your wallet / bag? Leaving out the boring bits like phone & keys - I’d say a Fluff lip oil, an eyebrow spoolie & lately a few reflex cards - no one has time for boring conversations.

Most commonly used apps on your phone? Instagram and Slack.

Products found in your shower / by your bath? A good Oud scented body wash, Viviology Gentle Foaming Cleanser & Christophe Robin Salt Hair Scrub.

Three things that can always be found in your kitchen cupboard? Honestly not a lot..fairly useless in the kitchen. St Ali coffee pods & magnesium powder would be the two constants (oh how ironic).

Favourite kitchen utensil? My Thermomix..albeit I don't utilise to its full potential. Great for an ‘everything’ smoothie though.

Favourite travel destination? I could never choose one! Puglia, Marrakesh or the South Island of New Zealand are up there!

Favourite form of movement / exercise? Reformer (rainy day) or a walk (sunny day).

Nighttime rituals & practices? Long hot shower, magnesium, Ikkari deep sleep tonic and tbh likely some mind-numbing trashy TV...

One thing you'd like to incorporate into your day / week that you're currently yet to? Newsletter reading time! I subscribe to all of these ‘wealths of wisdom’ and then when the to-do list piles up and the slacks are streaming in they sit in my inbox unread or getting my two minute glance at the end of the day. We get so caught on the job at hand we sometimes forget we need to keep filling our cups with the bits that inspire.

A secret? wouldn’t be much of a secret then would it.

Someone you look up to? My mum - total badass.

Something you're proud of? Always pushing myself into a new arena, even when it feels uncomfortable.

I feel most creatively fulfilled when…I'm working with really good humans who know their sh*t and also know how to have fun and be kind in the process.

I'm currently working on…showing the impact of good internal culture to a brand's bottom line.

This time last year, I wish I knew…how to be more present.

I'm grateful for…so much.
