People: Ingrid Kesa

Name: Ingrid Kesa.

Occupation / Business / Creative Outlet: Co-founder of women’s body care brand LUI and beauty writer.

Location: Melbourne, Australia.

What was the first thing you did this morning? Took a big sip of water and spritzed my face with rosewater.

What does 'well-being' mean to you? Contrary to popular belief, ‘wellbeing’ to me isn’t about feeling amazing all of the time. It’s about being present through good and bad, being able to ride life’s highs and lows while cultivating a balanced and safe internal landscape that you can always come home to.

Currently reading? Glossy: Ambition, Beauty and the Inside Story of Emily Weiss’ Glossier by Marisa Meltzer.

Currently browsing (.com)? Always browsing interior design and wedding mood boards on Pinterest even though I am neither a home owner nor engaged.

A resource / piece of writing you'd like to share with us? Yung Pueblo’s musings. Be Here Now by Ram Dass is also one of those books that you’ll never forget picking up for the first time.

An album/mix that calms your nervous system? Eazy Breezy Existential Summer by Rachael Saunders.

An album/mix that hypes you up? adore u’ by Fred Again

Three items in your wallet / bag? Biba De Sousa’s life changing Lip Treatment, car keys, water bottle.

Most commonly used apps on your phone? Instagram, Notes, Podcasts, Planoly, Trusted Tarot and Momence for booking yoga classes on-the-go.

Products found in your shower / by your bath? The Beetox Method dry body brush, the LUI razor and complete body care range of course, Christophe Robin haircare, a soft Baina towel.

Three things that can always be found in your kitchen cupboard? Golden Groves olive oil, By Beth collagen powder and emergency Loco Love chocolates.

Favourite kitchen utensil? OK, obsessed with this question. I love my Le Creuset basting brush. Also partial to a mandoline slicer. And the mini whisk from IKEA, so good for frothing milk for matcha or hot chocolate.

Favourite travel destination? Switzerland. I have family over there and it’s the most beautiful country.

Favourite form of movement / exercise? I have been practicing yoga for about six years now and it completely changed my life, and continues to do so. The yoga practice has taught me so many lessons that resonate well beyond the mat.

Nighttime rituals & practices? Cooking a nourishing meal, lighting incense or a candle, doing Gua Sha or facial cupping while I watch an episode of something.

One thing you'd like to incorporate into your day / week that you're currently yet to? I’d love to be one of those people who don't’t use their phone before bed.

A secret? Everything you need is already inside you.

Someone you look up to? My LUI business partner Rebecca Harding. She inspires me to be the best version of myself. I am forever in awe of her work ethic, generosity and creative spirit.

Something you're proud of? My ability to regulate my emotions and self-soothe. It’s a work in progress and by no means something that I have fully mastered, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how I’ve navigated some tough situations over the last year with resilience and clarity.

I feel most creatively fulfilled when… the sun is shining, the music is on and everyone is vibing.

I'm currently working on… beauty articles, LUI, a personal essay about turning 35, how to neatly fold a fitted sheet and getting abs one day.

This time last year, I wish I knew… that things will only get better.

I'm grateful for… my silly little life and everyone in it.
