ORRIS Paris: Bar Soap, But Not as You Know It

 

ORRIS Paris co-founders, Kenneth Koo and Lani Le Berre set out with a singular vission: To Elevate the Bar of Soap.

Unable to find existing products on the market that were at once effective, enjoyable to use, and gentle enough for sensitive skin, Kenneth Koo began making bar soaps for himself and friends. He began experimenting with powerful botanical ingredients inspired by rich histories of holistic practices, such as herbalism, Ayurveda, and Japanese cleansing rituals.

ORRIS was born out of a long friendship and the pairs’ combined passion for skincare, and a vision to elevate a simple bar of soap into a luxurious and sensorial cleansing experience.

Made with the highest quality plant derived ingredients, ORRIS products are designed to appeal to the senses: sight, smell, and touch.

‘ORRIS’ refers to the fragrant rootstock of the Iris flower and ‘ORRIS’ came to embody their vision for the brand: innovating through the reinterpretation of tradition and drawing inspiration from Nature.

We were taken by [the name] ‘ORRIS’ due to its rich history of being used as medicine and in perfumery to anchor scents. This herbal ingredient was quite symbolic to us: its association to the ephemeral flower and its healing properties.
