Five Mindfulness Apps We're Using in 2020

5+APPS
  1. BREATHWRK

For an intro to breathwork or a way to wind down before bed, relax before an important meeting, or just de-stress, Breathwrk offers simple exercises that can help. You choose the type of exercise and the length (say, a five-minute breath exercise for sleep), then the app guides you through timed inhales, exhales, and breath holds. You can also set reminders for morning and night. And if you’re trying to stick to a daily breathwork resolution, it keeps track of your streak, too.

  2. THE PATTERN

The Pattern is a social network that helps you better understand yourself and connect with others on a deeper level. With its freakish accuracy, it’s no reason we’re all addicted to receiving our daily updates from the pattern. You can add your friends, romantic interests and partner to check your emotional, spiritual and philosophical compatibility (or lack of!). Needless to say, you’ll to soon be as addicted as we are!

  3. NOISLI

On the days that have to buckle down, Noisli helps you zone in. The app offers a range of high quality ambient noise, ranging from streams to rain to trains, known to boost both productivity and relaxation. The best part is the manipulation function, which allows you to layer your chosen sounds–adjusting the volume of each–according to your mood and needs.

  4. 10 % HAPPIER

Based off of the popular book by Dan Harris, this app will teach you the how-to behind meditating, in a fun, easy, and accessible way. It's suited for anyone, but especially those who think they’re “not the meditation type” and can't find the time to start a meditation practice. You'll be lead through short on-the-go meditations designed to be listened to whenever you can fit them in (like during your commute). Try to see how many consecutive “Mindful Days” you rack up: with time, these moments of calm will come second nature.
